AAD Taxation got me a refund I never knew I was entitled to. Professional, quick, and explained everything in plain English. They found deductions my previous accountant completely missed. Absolutely outstanding!

As a small business owner, BAS and payroll was a nightmare. AAD took everything off my plate and the fixed pricing means no surprises. Their team responds within hours — incredible service, highly recommended.
Raj M.
I had 3 overdue tax returns and was terrified of the ATO. AAD sorted everything, negotiated my penalties down, and set up a payment plan. Now I’m fully up to date. They literally saved me thousands!

FAQs
Got Questions? We've Got Answers
Quick answers to common questions about GST, BAS, and calculations.
What is the GST rate in Australia?
The GST rate in Australia is a flat 10%, applied to most goods and services.
How do I calculate GST on a price?
To add GST, multiply the price by 1.1. To find the GST component of a price that already includes GST, divide the total by 11.
Is everything subject to GST?
No. Some items are GST-free, including basic food, many medical and health services, and certain educational courses.
Do sole traders need to register for GST?
Only if your turnover is $75,000 or more per year, or you provide ride-sourcing/taxi services. Below that, registration is optional.
How often do I need to lodge a BAS?
Most small businesses lodge their BAS every quarter, but depending on your turnover and what the ATO requires, you might lodge monthly or just once a year instead.
What happens if I lodge my BAS late?
The ATO can apply Failure to Lodge (FTL) penalties and the General Interest Charge (GIC) on any outstanding amounts, so timely lodging is important.
Can this calculator be used for invoices?
Absolutely. It’s a quick way to check your GST figures before sending out an invoice, or to double-check one you’ve received from a supplier.
Can I claim GST credits without being registered?
No, you have to be registered for GST in order to get GST credits for things you buy for your business.
